About the event:
Guild Insurance has seen a growing trend of complaints, and therefore insurance claims, where there’s no allegation of clinical error or poor outcome. Instead, these complaints focus on the behaviour and conduct of the dietitian as a professional. Using claims examples, this session will explore the nature of these complaints, why they’re occurring and what you can do to reduce the likelihood of facing these allegations.
Apply it to practice:
This session will provide dietitians with a greater understanding of expectations placed on them regarding their professional behaviour and what they can do to meet these expectations.
Christie Boucher (Risk Services Manager, Guild Insurance) has 25 years experience as an educator having started her career as a secondary school health and physical education teacher. For more than 15 years Christie’s career has been focused on developing risk management education resources and programs for various professionals. Christie has a keen interest in the role education can play in managing risk by raising awareness and changing behaviour.
