This webinar will cover the prevalence and presentation of ARFID in different adult populations including in those with intolerances, screening and diagnostic tools, various treatments and the role of the dietitian in patient/client management.
- To outline the prevalence, screening and diagnosis of ARFID in adult populations
- To understand the role of a multidisciplinary team approach for assessment and management of ARFID
- To explore the role dietitians play in the management of patients/clients with ARFID and coexisting intolerances
Brianna Secko is an Accredited Practising Dietitian. Brianna is currently working as a private practice dietitian at GH Nutrition in Canberra. She has a special interest in sensory feeding issues, cautious eating and the treatment of Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). This interest was sparked due to her own experience of being a cautious when she was younger. Due to this experience, Brianna knows how frightening it can be to try new foods, even if you want to, and the strain and concern this can put on parents and loved ones. Brianna enjoys helping both children and adults expand their food variety and find joy in food again. She has also completed the SOS Approach to Feeding Conference.
Rebecca Ponsford is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with a special interest in gastrointestinal disorders, food intolerances, eating disorders and disordered eating. She consults with clients in private practice.
