  • BUILDING ACCESSIBLE DIETITIAN SERVICES

Do you work directly with the public or people in your role as a dietitian?
    Are you in private practice?

    Do you facilitate group education?

Work in a community role or hospital setting?

What about other roles that involve direct people or client contact?

If the answer is YES, then this message is for you.

Around one in five Australians have a disability, so if you’re working directly with people, then you’re probably working with people with disability.

Knowing how to respond to the needs of people with disability is part of the job – even if disability is not the focus of your practice. However, there are few educational and CPD opportunities to upskill dietitians on how to work safely and effectively with people with disability.

To address this gap, Dietitians Australia partnered with the Australian Federation of Disability Organisations to develop an education program and resources to support dietitians to work with people with disability.

The education program will launch in September 2022.

We’ve been busy working on the project. Watch this video for the latest update.
