Bio

Jodie is the founder and CEO of 3 private practice businesses; Optimum Intake Dietitians, Myrtle Oak Clinic and Elevated Dietetics.

With a passion for strengthening the private practice sector for dietitians, in 2022, Jodie has launched Elevated Dietetics, a business coaching service, Supporting clinic-based, private practice dietitian business owners who want to increase their impact, influence and income. Dietitians who want to step back from some client work, yet are unsure how to hire and delegate work to someone else and free up their time so you can spend more time working on the business, not always in the business. Allowing time to focus on strategic planning, building authentic relationships and team leadership to grow their services and business. I use my experience to support private practice dietitians to get clarity on where they want their business to thrive and grow and the steps in the process to get them there.

As the founder of Myrtle Oak Clinic, Jodie had a vision to provide a welcoming space for people struggling with food, body image, exercise, and weight issues, a place where people can access compassionate care and treatment via a collaborative approach of psychological and dietary services. The Myrtle Oak Team has filled that vision by creating an eating disorder focused service that is driven to inspire health, wellbeing and recovery in a meaningful way through enjoyment, satisfaction, self-care and nourishment.

As an Accredited Dietitian and Accredited Nutritionist, graduating from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor or Health Sciences (Nutrition and Dietetics) Jodie provides nutritional counselling, interventions, and supervision to a wide range of individuals and professionals. She is a Credentialled Eating Disorder Clinician, with over 15 years experience working in the field of eating disorders Jodie has maintained her passion to work with the Intuitive Eating, Non-Diet Approach® and Health at Every Size® (HAES) approaches. Working in both the public health and private practice settings Jodie has experience working with clients seeking help for emotional eating, weight concerns, clinical eating disorders, sub-clinical eating disorders, fussy eating and child/family nutrition.

Jodie has received training in, and has experience in delivering, several Eating Disorder treatment models for both individuals and families. Her area of interest lies with supporting parents to achieve recovery for their adolescent, within the home environment, using Maudsley Family Therapy, in which she was trained by Australia’s leading clinicians at The Children’s Hospital Westmead. Jodie is committed to on-going professional development and provides supervision to other clinicians wanting to further their skills working with evidence-based treatments , particularly Maudsley Family based Therapy.

Through extensive training and experience Jodie and her team work to empower individuals to overcome the barriers they are experiencing and bring back the joy of eating and movement.
